Georgia Heard
An internationally known writer, keynote speaker, and educational consultant, Georgia Heard may be best known for her passionate support of poetry and writing. A graduate of Columbia University (MFA in Writing) where she was honored by the Academy of American Poets, Georgia has gone on to author several books on teaching poetry and writing. Lester Laminack
As a professor from the department of Birth-Kindergarten, Elementary and Middle Grades Education at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina Lester L. Laminack received two prestigious awards for excellence in teaching (the Botner Superior Teaching Award and the Chancellor's Distinguished Teaching Award). In addition to numerous academic publications on teaching literacy to young children and extensive experience as an editor of various teaching periodicals, Lester is an author of several children's books.
